OUR RUNS

Weekly runs start at 6am on Saturdays (rain, hail or shine) from our club rooms in Marie Wallace Park Bayswater.

OUR ROUTES

We run on footpaths, bike tracks and trails around the Knox area, with an away run each month. See our Calendar for more details.

THE DISTANCE

Our runs range from 10k to 35k, with distances increasing steadily between May and October in preparation for the Melbourne Marathon and Half Marathon. There are 2-3 distance options every week.

OUR PACE

On a run, the main group will split up organically in to smaller groups running at their own pace, anywhere from 4mins/k to 6+mins/k.

OUR STANDARD

We ask that you can confidently run 8km at 6mins/k pace, without any walking breaks, when you join us. Of course we have groups of recovering runners who may run (or walk) more slowly than this. If you currently find 6m/km challenging, give us a call and discuss your current fitness level before despairing.

DRINK STOPS

Our runs have vehicle support providing drink stops every 5 to 8 km (approximately). As our distances increase approaching October, we have two vehicles out on the course to support the longer and shorter distances simultaneously.

CLUBROOM FACILITIES

Basic shower and change facilities are available at our clubrooms along with tea and coffee after the run. Some mornings we also have a café or BBQ breakfast.

NAVIGATION & SAFETY

All runners must follow road rules and look out for fellow members.  Our course changes weekly and require you to ‘stay on course’. It is every runner’s responsibility to ensure they are familiar with the course to avoid relying on others or becoming lost. The routes are published on our Facebook page each week and are available in gpx format for your navigation device. First Aid is available on all runs.
