About KRR

Do you need some support and encouragement for your next running challenge?

At Knox Roadrunners our members pursue goals in the company of like

minded members running at a compatible pace.

Every Saturday morning early without fail we tackle

a course of between 10 and 35km, with options to run shorter if need be.

We have runners that can do sub 3hr marathons, and beginners and

recovering athletes that run much much slower.

We value fellowship over performance, but celebrate our successes.

We are proud to support local charities within the area with all funds raised.

OUR HISTORY

Knox Roadrunners came into being as a result of City of Knox staff that for sometime time prior to 1987 had been running during their lunch
breaks and after work to keep fit. In early 1987 one of these runners instigated the formation of a more organised group under the banner of City of Knox Roadrunners.

By the second half of 1987 the group was meeting Saturday mornings at 6am and this started to expand to include friends of current
runners and some local residents. Runs at this time were generally 5 or 10kms. and running together along the bike track immediately at
the rear of the council buildings.

By mid 1988 the council needed to use the area the club utilised so we relocated the Club to rooms in Bayswater and remain in this Suburb
today.

We thank all committee members, members, families and friends (past and present) who have made this club what we still love today
