Why I love to run:
Dad was a sub three hour marathon running so I grew up watching him and started running with him when I was about 11. I love getting out in nature and the feeling of being fit.
What was I thinking running story?
I played VBL state basketball and in 2006 got a new coach who reduce my minutes from 38 a game to 10. Frustrated by lack of opportunity I announced I’d run home from the game to show how my fitness was being wasted. In the first quarter the other point guard badly injured their ankle so I had to play the whole game. I was determined to still run the 26km home and got about to 20km and had to run walk as I was done. A great lesson a year before my first marathon!
Future Running goals
To keep improving on my PB Marathon times. Dad still has me covered in the Melbourne Marathon by 20 seconds and about a minute overall!
